Passed away on June 21, 2017 at age 90. She was predeceased by her husband, Max Springut; grandson, Gavriel Springut; parents, Hyman and Ida Cohen; sisters, Doris Dessauer and Mimi Blaker. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Lyn Springut; daughter and son-in-law, Robin and James Parsons and granddaughters, Ali and Maddie Parsons.
Barbara was always the life of every party. She was an avid chef and hostess of grand gatherings that welcomed many loved ones and friends into her home. Barbara and her husband Max owned Springut's Luncheonette for many years. Barb was instrumental in creating the innovative menus and running the kitchen at the Red Creek Inn and Don and Bob's and taught many chefs their trade. This, along with her family were her pride and joy. The family would like to thank the aides and staff of the Jewish Home for their wonderful care of Barb.
Graveside Services will be held Friday, June 23rd at 10AM in the Temple Beth El Section, Range 9 of Mt. Hope Cemetery. Shiva will be observed at 216 Oxford Street on Friday following the funeral, Sunday, 10-1 and 7-9 PM, Monday - Wednesday, 7-9 PM.
